Family Empowerment Scholarship
Approved Direct Pay Provider
Florida Department of Education's Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) provides eligible students, ages 3-22, scholarship money to be used for approved services such as speech therapy. The Gardiner Scholarship allows parents to access specialty services and educational opportunities to create a personalized educational plan to meet their child's unique needs and abilities.

Play on Words Therapy Solutions offers Family Empowerment Scholarship speech language therapy services to children throughout the state of Florida via our secure online therapy platform. Online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person therapy. Online speech therapy for Family Empowerment Scholarship recipients also allows children to access high-quality services no matter where they are located. Eligibility for the Family Empowerment Scholarship:

Your child lives in Florida
-
Applicants must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1 of the year in which the student applies for program participation, or eligible to enroll in kindergarten through 12th grade in a Florida public school
Your child is on an active Individualized Education Program (IEP) OR has a diagnosis of disability from a physician or psychologist

Applicants must be enrolled in a private school or be participating in a home school program

Family Empowerment Scholarship

The Family Empowerment Scholarship Program includes two branches of eligibility, the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Disabilities.

Play on Words Therapy Solutions is an approved Gardiner Scholarship speech therapy provider for children receiving their Gardiner Scholarship funds through Step Up For Students

Services include speech, language, literacy, and social skills therapy

Parent coaching is an effective therapy approach we use for children who are not ready for direct therapy or able to consistently participate in online therapy (read more about parent coaching here)
